Star Trek: Strange New Worlds settles in the second half of the first season, and there is praise abounds from Paramount + subscribers when it comes to the new series of the franchise. Apparently, the sci-fi series’ cast and crew received all sorts of praise for the characters and storytelling, and the good vibes had a positive impact on season 2. Star Melissa Navia confirmed to Gossipify that the passionate responses of the fans have “electrified” the filming of Season 2, which is said to be even better than Season 1. Not a few brags for the actress of Erica Ortega!
I recently spoke to Melissa Navia about the positive reception Star Trek: Strange New Worlds she won and asked if she and her co-stars thought the show would be as well received as it is now. When Navia shared her response from her, she vaguely talked about the difference between shooting season 1 and season 2 and how listening to Trekkies’ thoughts impacted next season’s filming process.
It’s been just two seasons of an extraordinary team, [and] an incredible cast. Everyone in the cast is as great as you would like them to be, as you think they are. They are fun, they are just great people to be with. I’m an introvert and would still hang out with them every day if needed.
It seems the overall response to the first season’s twists has been remarkably encouraging for the cast and crew Star Trek: Strange New Worlds while they were assembling the second season. It’s unclear if he was just talking about the cast or if the writers were in that mix as well. It would be quite crucial (and even insane) to know that the creative team was actively measuring reactions to the first season in real time during the filming of subsequent episodes, at least to find out what viewers want to see most. I guess it makes sense for them to pay attention to the reception, especially considering strange new worlds has largely become because the fandom wanted to see it .
Christina Chong teased in a previous chat with Gossipify that season 2 was at “any other level compared to the first season, and Melissa Navia took it one step further. When I asked him about Season 2, she made the wonderfully bold claim that it somehow surpasses the already acclaimed Season 1:
I think I would even go as far as to say that it is even better than the first season, and with the first we are very happy. In the second season, we keep getting these scripts that throw him out of the park. It integrates Trek and it integrates history, it integrates current science and technology. And then he weaves it in a way that makes you want to be on the Enterprise. It really makes you fall in love with this world and be a part of it.
I find it hard to imagine season 2 of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds getting through the already phenomenal first season, but I’m still willing to trust Melissa Navia. (especially with Paul Wesley enters as James Kirk .) Could the star’s portrayal of the new “out of the park” scripts have something to do with the writers’ reaction to the meticulous reviews and praise from fans?
Melissa Navia obviously could not elaborate on what will happen, but she talked about it extensively strange new worlds Season 2. The actress made it clear that fans should expect the unexpected, saying:
In the second season, we’re going to go to places you didn’t expect, you wouldn’t expect, but you’ll be glad we did. People are already talking about season 3 and since my head is trying to figure out season 2, we are heading towards the end. We have some of the biggest scenes we’ve shot so far, especially for me, coming up. So very exciting.
It’s unclear whether or not Melissa Navia was referring to the creators or fans of the show when she referred to Season 3, but it’s exciting to hear that she’s joining the conversation, whoever she is. It is unlikely that Paramount + will refrain from announcing the news of the third season, but it is certainly possible.
I am particularly interested in what some of these “bigger scenes” entail, although we will still have to wait a long time to see them. At least there are still many New Emigrate coming in 2022 to stop us once Season 1’s Star Trek: Strange New Worlds concludes.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds there are still a few new episodes left in the first season for fans to watch on Thursdays In Paramount+ (opens in a new tab) . With all recent unexpected revelations , I can only imagine what’s going to happen for the season finale, so I cross my fingers saying it’s as strong as any other episode so far.
