Daft Punk would have an unreleased full album, confirms drummer

Musician who collaborated on drums on ‘Random Access Memories’ (2013) revealed that he participated in recordings for an unreleased album by the French duo, on hiatus since 2021

A collaborator of Daft Punk confirmed that the French duo would have new material for an album that has not yet been released. Quinthe drummer who contributed to the group’s last studio album, revealed that he had participated in recordings for what would be the unreleased follow-up to Random Access Memories (2013).

The confirmation came in an interview with the channel alt.news 26:46 (via Consequence of Sound), in which Quin recalled:

“At the Random Access Memories, I was probably the last one to join the recording. For the next album that [o Daft Punk] was preparing, I was the first.”

According to the musician, the duo’s composing experience, composed of Thomas Bangalter It is Guy-Manuel, would have been unique. “That unnamed record, I think would be quite spontaneous.”

“Thomas [Bangalter] he had his keyboard and even a computer program, and he was just experimenting,” he said. “He was just trying some things, we were trying to create a vibe. He was at the mixing board and I was in the studio, so I started my weird drum set… whatever he gave me, I responded and we tried to get somewhere with it.”

Quin also revealed the participation of another musician, Paul Jackson Jr.who would have entered the studio with guitar parts.

Regarding the release of the album, Quin did not give details: “I keep trying to find out more. I heard they are working on it. It should come out of the vault. I asked Daft Punk for permission to talk about it for another article, because they are very discreet, as you know. And they are the best people.”
