The municipality of Campo Alegre de Lourdes claims that the municipality is in order with its accounts and that the event will bring profit to the local economy

The Town Hall of Campo Alegre de Lourdes, in the hinterland of Bahia, city ​​located 820 km from Salvador, on the border with Piauí, booked the singer’s show Gustavo Lima for R$1.3 million for the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes, patron saint of the city, which will take place on February 9th.

The Municipality justified the expense for the show based on the economic return that the event will bring to the city of 30 thousand inhabitants. “The festival attracts people from 20 nearby towns, attracts 30 to 40 thousand people. All this generates wealth for the municipality, displaces restaurants and attracts street vendors,” said the Mayor Enilson Marcelo (PC do B) to the newspaper.

Marcelo also reiterated that the municipality is up to date with its accounts, does not delay employees’ salaries and has the program Management 10, which delivers a project every 10 days, with 90% of the municipality’s own investment resources. Furthermore, the expectation is that the party will encourage the circulation of R$10 million in the local economy, without imposing any kind of burden on other essential health and educational activities, for example.
