Lana Del Rey announces first country album at pre-Grammy event

The singer was nominated for five categories at the 2024 Grammy Awards

Lana Del Rey announced a new country album, titled Lassoin a pre-Grammy on the night of this Wednesday, 31, in Los Angeles.

“If you haven’t noticed from our winners and our artists, the music industry is turning to country,” he told the audience. “We’re going country. It’s happening. That’s why Jack[Antonoff] followed me to Muscle Shoals, Nashville, Mississippi, for the last four years.”

The singer also praised Antonoffwho called him “one in a million”, and stated that he must have been “born under one of those lucky, talented musical stars”.

The release of the new album by Lana is scheduled for September. Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvdreleased in 2023, earned her five nominations for Grammy, including Album of the Year and Best Alternative Music Album. The song “Candy Necklace”, in partnership with Jon Batista is nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, while “A&W” was nominated for Song of the Year and Best Alternative Music Performance.

Lana he had already tried country in December last year, for example, when he covered “Take Me Home, Country Roads”, a classic by John Denver. She also shared “Henry, Come On” on social media.
