The expression made headlines after being used by Davi in a fight on the reality show
Summary
The band La Fúria released a song in reference to the expression ‘Calma, Calabreso’ used by Davi on BBB24. The expression was created by comedian Toninho Tornado, but was not well interpreted within the house.
The Bahian pagode group – or simply “pagodão” – La Fúria published, on the afternoon of this Thursday 1st, the preview of the song “Calma, Calabreso”, in reference to the expression that made headlines on BBB24 after being used by Davi in a fight on Wednesday evening, the 30th.
The expression, unknown to most of the brothers, was created by comedian Toninho Tornado and has sparked debate within the house. But in these parts the public immediately recognized the term “Calabrian”, giving rise to numerous memes.
“La Fúria is that, the meme band! And now we return with everything in the best version to defend our compatriot who is there at the BBB. And it doesn’t end here, the next song is by Rodriguinho,” said Bruno Magnata, leader of the group.
The music plays with expression, using key words in the rhythm of the Bahian pagoda. “Senta no calabreso” is one of the verses sung by Magnata along with the rhythm of the pagodão in the background. According to the band, the full official audio will be available on music platforms soon.
The “Calabreso” gave in
On the Internet, many people came to Davi Brito’s defense after other participants suggested that the expression “Calabrian” was fatophobic. Internet users even saved a video of funk singer Bin Laden using the expression, even though he at home said he didn’t know it.
In the video in question, published on TikTok, Bin Laden shows different ways in which he usually greets his friends. “What’s going on, Mozzarelo? How are you, Valesco Popozudo? What’s going on, Luiso Sonzo? Hey, Calabreso,” he says, among other greetings.
Also taking advantage of the backlash, Davi’s wife, Mani Reggo, who is a street vendor, launched “X-Calabreso” in her snack kiosk in Salvador. “Since there have been many requests to prepare the X-Calabreso, I will make it and put it in my stall to sell it. I’ll wait for you here, okay?”, said Mani.
