The R&B icon will be responsible for leading the halftime of the 2024 edition of the biggest sporting event in the United States, which takes place this Sunday (11)
This Sunday, February 11th, Usher takes over the spotlight that once belonged to artists like Prince, Beyonce, Coldplay, Katy Perry, Bruno Mars, Katy Perry, Rihanna, Shakira It is Jennifer Lopezamong many others, and runs the halftime show of Super Bowl LVIIIthe largest sporting event in the United States.
To celebrate the presentation, the Rolling Stone Brazil carried out a survey of the main hits by the rapper and R&B icon, who aims to pay homage to black R&B artists, who were the inspiration for his music. Check out the selection below:
- “Yeah!”with Lil Jon and the Ludacris,accumulates more than 1 billion streams on Spotify;
- “U Got It Bad” was the second single from his third studio album “8701” (2001) and remained at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 for four weeks;
- “DJ Got Us Fallin’ In Love”partnership with Pitbull,is among the most listened to tracks in Usher and reached number 4 on the Hot 100;
- “Burn” was planned to be the album’s main working song “Confessions” (2004), but ended up being left in the background. Despite this, it also reached number one on the Hot 100 and remained there for eight weeks;
- With Alicia Keys, “My Boo” held the top spot on the US best-selling songs for six weeks;
- “U Remind Me” was one of the songs that reached number one on the American charts and remained at the top for four weeks;
- In partnership with the will.i.am, Usher launched “OMG”present on his sixth studio album “Raymond v. Raymond” (2010) and spent four weeks at the top of the Hot 100;
- “Confessions Part II” It held the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 for two weeks, becoming the album’s third single “Confessions” (2004) topping the chart;
- With the rapper Young Jeezy, Usher launched “Love In This Club” as the first song on the album “Here I Stand” (2008), which became the artist’s 15th single to enter the Billboard Hot 100, reaching the top of the chart;
- “Nice & Slow” was the singer’s first single to reach the top of the Billboard Hot 100.
