More than 120 partygoers fell ill during Ludmilla’s trio in Rio

The municipality of Rio de Janeiro reported that on Tuesday (13/2) alone, the two medical clinics of the Municipal Department of Health served 129 people celebrating. Many people fell ill during the passage of the electric trio Ludmilla, which had to be closed earlier than expected due to the strong heat. The block brought together 1.2 million people in the central block loop.

According to Municipality data, 83 calls were made to the Praça Ana Amélia unit and 46 to the Largo da Carioca station. Most patients had conditions related to excessive alcohol consumption and heat stress. Of these, 14 people were sent to UPA (First Aid Units).

Heat to catch fire

Thermometers recorded 36ºC with a final sensation of 43ºC at the time of the “Fervo da Lud” block. Maximum temperatures reached 42ºC in some regions of the capital Rio de Janeiro. Even so, many revelers complained on social media about the early closure.

“Super shocked! More than a million and a half people, and the kitty for the trio because 20 people, who couldn’t stay in front and insisted, ended up getting sick. And the kitty for the trio,” shouted one user of Instagram in a post by Ludmilla. “He does this every year,” another joked.
