Beatles fans have been well served with new releases lately. After the new song Occasionallylast November, the English will win four biopics, all written by Sam Mendes, Oscar winner for American Beauty (2000).
The production of the new films, focusing individually on Paul McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison and Ringo Starr, was confirmed by Mendes to the portal expiration, this Tuesday 20. “We went to Los Angeles just before Christmas to present the project. We can say that we were welcomed with enthusiasm by everyone,” said the director. Ultimately, Sony was chosen to distribute the productions.
The idea is that the four films are connected through the same stories told from the point of view of each member, until the final separation in 1970.
It is the first time that Paul and Ringo – as well as John and George’s families – have granted royalties for this type of initiative. The executive production is entrusted to Jeff Jones who represents the Body of applesrecord label and multimedia organization founded by the band.
The feature films are scheduled for release in 2027.
