Myra Carvalho, 35, was arrested in London for harassing the British singer, to whom she sent thousands of letters, online and handwritten.

A 35-year-old Brazilian woman is in custody by the British police and will respond for persecution of the singer Harry Styles. Myra Carvalho was arrested at the end of January after sending 8,000 letters to the singer in one month.

Myra reportedly sent letters online and also handwritten, including two hand-delivered to Styles’ home. The woman had been staying since December in a hostel in Earl Court, London, and would have a companion in Brazil. According to the The Independent (via Terra EntretĂȘ), her family did not know she was traveling.

After being arrested for harassment at the end of January, the Brazilian woman reportedly participated in a hearing via video call this Tuesday (20), from the HMP Bronzefield women’s prison, where she is held. According to the DailyMail, the messages included “wedding cards” and expressed “sexual impulses” towards the singer. Myra’s harassment reportedly led Styles to change part of his routine.

According to Clementine Simon, the lawyer representing Myra, she had suffered from a “manic episode”. The Brazilian, in turn, did not use the word to defend herself. The case is judged by the judge Karim Ezzatwhich sent the case to be heard by the same court on April 19th.
