The country singer will have to undergo treatment with blood-thinning drugs before undergoing a kidney transplant.
Singer Chrystian, a former duo with Ralf, has had kidney transplant surgery postponed until later this year. In a note published on Instagram, the compatriot’s team informed that he will have to undergo treatment before carrying out the invasive procedure.
The publication reports that Chrystian underwent catheterization during preoperative examinations and, therefore, requires medical care for a semester. “This procedure requires the use of blood-thinning medications for six months, and surgery is not permitted during treatment,” an excerpt reads.
Unlike Faustão, who received a kidney this week through the State Transplant Center of São Paulo, the artist will receive the organ donation from his wife, Key Vieira, via laparoscopy.
The kidney is the organ with the longest waiting list; Faustão waited 2 months

“We inform you that the surgery to which the singer Chrystian would have undergone at the Hospital do Rim, in March, for a kidney transplant, had to be postponed to another date, closer to the end of the year.
During the preoperative examinations, which took place in the same hospital, it was necessary to perform a catheterization on the patient. This procedure requires the use of blood-thinning medications for six months, and surgery is not permitted during this treatment.
Chrystian has polycystic kidney disease, a genetic disease, and the donation will be carried out by a living donor, by his wife Key Vieira, via laparoscopy. The singer is fine, with no other problems, and will continue his concert program until the surgery date which will be set soon.”
