Gabriel Costa, son of Gal Costa, has submitted a request for exhumation and autopsy to identify the true cause of the singer’s death. The information was released by columnist Mônica Bergamo, from the newspaper Folha de S. Paulo.
The artist died due to an acute myocardial infarction in November 2022. The death certificate also certified that she had head and neck cancer. But Gabriel wants new clarification on the cause of her mother’s death.
In addition to the requests, the heir requests that Gal Costa’s remains be transferred to the São João Batista cemetery, in Rio de Janeiro, where the artist purchased a tomb to be buried next to her mother, to whom she was very close. The singer’s body was buried in São Paulo by Wilma Petrillo’s decision, which sparked outrage among family members.
At the time Gabriel Costa was a minor and could not interfere in the decision. The 18-year-old also disputes in court the declarations according to which Petrillo was Gal Costa’s wife and the portion of the assets she claimed.
