Lollapalooza: number of national artists in the line-up triples since the festival debuts in Brazil

Brazilian names are the majority in the 2024 edition of the festival that starts next Friday (22)

The number of Brazilian artists in the line-up of Lollapalooza Brazil has tripled since the first edition of the festival here, in 2012. In the 2024 edition, which starts next Friday (22), there will be 46 national names compared to 15 that made up the debut lineup, 12 years ago.

The proportional number of Brazilians at the event also rose by almost 20%. Today, they are the majority of the 77 attractions confirmed at the festival, with 59.7% of the total line-up, compared to 41.6% of the total in 2012, when Lollapalooza had 36 attractions.

Held at the Jockey Clube de São Paulo, the first edition of Lollapalooza Brasil lasted just two days, between April 7th and 8th. That year, the headliners were Foo Fighters and the Arctic monkeysin addition to the Jane’s Addiction in Perry Farrellfounder and recurring presence at the festival.

The Rappathe main national attraction that year, appeared only in the fourth line of confirmed artists, below names like MGMT, Foster The People It is Calvin Harris. None of the Brazilian artists who performed that year are confirmed for the 2024 edition, which includes Gilberto Gil, Titans, Supla, BaianaSystem, Luisa Sonza, B.K. It is Marcelo D2 among the highlights of the cast.

Lollapalooza Brasil 2024

Lollapalooza Brasil 2024 takes place at the Autódromo de Interlagos, in São Paulo, on the 22nd, 23rd and 24th of March. Headliners include Blink-182, Arcade Fire, Kings of Leon, Limp Bizkit, Titãs, SZA, Sam Smith and more. Tickets are still available on the festival website.
