Jon Bon Jovi doesn’t know if he will tour after vocal cord surgery

The singer underwent vocal cord reconstruction surgery in 2022, when he ended up straining the healthy region more than it should.

Jon Bon Jovi isn’t sure he’ll be able to tour with the band again, despite it being one of his current desires. It turns out that the singer is still recovering from major reconstructive surgery on his vocal cords, performed in 2022.

“I don’t know if we’ll go on tour. It’s my desire to go on tour next year, but I’m still recovering from major surgery,” Jon explained to Boston’s Mix 104.1 radio. The singer also reiterated that he is taking care of himself to perform well on stage.

“Even though I’m on the road to recovery and I was able to take my time and sing a song a day when I made the album, my need and desire is to be able to sing two and a half hours, one night, four nights a week , for months. And so I’m working towards this goal.”

The artist underwent reconstructive surgery on his vocal cords and a procedure called “medialization” to promote healing. The operation was carried out because one of his vocal cords, which was healthy, ended up being forced more than necessary to try to compensate for the weaker one.

At the time of the procedures, Jon Bon Jovi shared with fans that his vocal cords were “atrophied” and that one was “as big as a thumb” while the other was likened to a “pinky.”

Upcoming projects

Bon Jovi has some promising successes this year, such as the debut of the documentary series “Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story,” which will air on the Star+ platform starting April 26. The band has also scheduled the release of the album “Forever” for June 7th. The project interrupts the four-year hiatus without any news and also marks the celebration of 40 years of its history.
