For 13 years, Lollapalooza Brasil has brought great attractions to the country and, since its first edition, held in 2012, the festival respects the musical copyrightvalorizing composers.
As a thank you, this year the Lollapalooza will receive the Seal of recognition From Ecad (Central Collection and Distribution Office).
The festival has signed the contract to pay public performance rights and will pay the authors of the songs that will be performed three days of this edition.
OR Lollapalooza Brazil it will happen in the days March 22, 23 and 24to the Interlagos racetrackIn St. Paul. On the four stages of the festival, audiences will see national and international attractions such as Blink-182, Arcade Fire, Kings of Leon, Limp Bizkit, Titãs, SZA AND Sam Smith.
“When Lollapalooza Brasil pays royalties for songs played on the days it offers attractions to the public, the festival demonstrates recognition for the work of the songwriters. Not everyone is aware that this is how the songwriters receive the sums in royalties. Often they do not go on stage because they are not performers or musicians and, therefore, do not share the musical compensation, intended for those who participate in the shows. It is in their name that Ecad negotiates with festivals and carries out awareness campaigns across the country. It’s great to have Lollapalooza as an example of what all festivals in Brazil should do.”stated the executive superintendent of Ecad, Isabel Amorim.
OR Ecad recognition seal was launched last year and festivals and events like The City, Virada Cultural de São Paulo, Expo Carnaval Brazil, Verão Maior Paraná 2024, Natal de Curitiba – Luz dos Pinhais and other. It is intended for events that respect and enhance artistic work through the payment of royalties to the musical class.
Parallel to the seal, the Ecad promotes a campaign aimed at brands that sponsor the festivals. The goal is to alert companies that adopt a do-good agenda Exgon aligning your brands with events committed to paying royalties so that they are associated with partners who meet the criteria required by Brazilian legislation, as in the case of Lollapalooza Brazil.
