Earlier this month, Musk stated that xAI would make the Grok open source. This is because the announcement came after the billionaire sued the OpenAI for allegedly abandoning its original mission in favor of a for-profit model. Thus, this action could provide free access to the public to try out the code behind the technology. Furthermore, aligning xAI with companies like Goal (META.O) and the Mistral from France, both with open source AI models.
