O Kiss sold its music catalog, brand and intellectual property. The announcement, made this Thursday (4), explains the agreement made between the band and the Swedish investment company Pophouse.
The idea of the agreement would be to expand and preserve the legacy of the iconic rock group, which is expected to be celebrated soon with a biopic, an avatar show and an interactive experience. Included in the sale would be the face paints that have become synonymous with Kiss.
Details about values were not clarified, but according to the Fortune the transaction would have cost US$300 million to Pophouse – the company that already coordinates the show ABBA Voyage, a tribute to the Swedish quartet. Previously, Cyndi Lauper he also allegedly sold his catalog to the firm.

Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons would remain involved with creative decisions involving the group’s legacy. “We already have several plans in place,” Simmons stated in the announcement.
The first initiative of the agreement should be the show with avatars. At the group’s farewell show at Madison Square Garden, the digitalized quartet appeared briefly, playing a version of “God Gave Rock And Roll To You”.
