Originally published in November 30, 1973the album Gang on the runone of the most acclaimed works of ex-Beatle Paul McCartney and his band Wings, has just won a commemorative edition of 50 years which is in presale in Brazil via Umusic Store for the value of R$649.90.
Gang on the run was recorded in part at the studio of EMI In LagosTO Nigeria and ended up inside London. McCartney wanted to record in an exotic location, but he faced challenges, including the departure of two band members it’s a armed robbery, forcing the legendary British musician to play bass, drums, percussion and most of the guitar parts.
The album includes hit singles such as Jet and the title track Gang on the runwhich helped make it the best-selling album of 1974 to the UK and so on Australia. Furthermore, Gang on the run Is considered McCartney’s greatest success after the Beatles and it was included Grammy Hall of Fame in 2013 and listed by the magazine Rolling Stone between 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
In this edition, the album comes out on two half-speed vinyl discs use a high resolution transfer from the original 1973 master tapes Abbey Road Studios and a second mix LP Underdubbedunreleased songs, contained in a box set prize.
OR disc 1 mirrors the American release which includes the song Elena Wheelsas well as including two posters of Linda McCartney in the format Polaroids.
This work represents a milestone in the career of McCartney and remains a favorite among fans and critics, standing out for the innovation and timeless quality of his songs, which still enjoy success today, especially during the musician’s performances on his international tours.
