To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the album ‘Raimundos’, released in 1994, Rolling Stone Brasil asked Deezer for the top 10 of the band’s most listened to songs on the platform
On April 2nd, the album Raimundos, the debut album by the iconic group of the same name, turned 30. Launched by Banguela Records and recorded in Be Bop Studioin São Paulo, the album would not only present the band formed, at that time, by Digão (guitar), Rodolfo (vocal), Canisso (low) and Fred (drums), as it would also change the hardcore punk scene of the 1990s.

In 16 tracks, the album would be responsible for introducing the group’s classics, such as “Whorehouse in João Pessoa”, “Nêga Jurema” It is “Saddle” – tracks that would accompany them throughout their career, rocked by the departure of Rodolfo Abrantes, converted to evangelism in 2001; and by the death, ultimately premature, of Canisso, in 2023, already in the penultimate formation of the group.
More than that, Raimundos it would sell more than 150 thousand copies and would be the defining album of the heavy sound, but also influenced by regional rhythms, such as forró, which would become one of the group’s signatures in later works. The following year, given the resounding success of the album, Raimundos would return to the studio to record Lavô is new – now for Warner.

Interestingly, and despite its importance, Raimundos, the album, would only generate one of the group’s 10 most listened to tracks by the public today. At the request of Rolling Stone BrazilThe Deezer identified the 10 most listened to Raimundos tracks on the platform in the last year – from April 9, 2023 to April 8, 2024. From the debut album, only “Whorehouse in João Pessoa”is present in the ranking, in ninth position.
