In May, the British singer returns to Brazil after two years for three shows on the tour in Curitiba, São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro
Two years after visiting Brazil, Louis Tomlinson prepares to return to the country, where he presents the tour Faith In The Futurewhich has the same name as his most recent album, released in 2022. Here, the Brit will perform in Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo and Curitiba on the 8th, 11th and 12th of May, respectively.
In conversation with the Rolling Stone Brazil, Louis says he feels great about returning to the country and feels lucky to be able to return with the new tour. “Being here in the city makes everything seem more real,” he comments. The interview with the singer took place during a quick visit to São Paulo.

Louis speaks fondly of Brazilian fans and recalls a relationship that has spanned more than a decade. “The consistency of passion is one thing. When I’m here, or even online, the consistency of love is really cool.”
For these longtime fans, the singer gives a spoiler of what we might see at the shows here. “Maybe some covers of One DirectionI have to think about that.” In the artist’s most recent show, in Monterrey, Mexico, he performed “Drag Me Down” It is “Night Changes“, boy band hits.
But, for those who were on the last tour, I think this one is very different. I think I’m in a more confident place and the tour is more visually exciting. The chemistry between me and the band is even better.
The singer also states that he is in a moment of greater confidence and attributes this to artistic evolution. “Certainly, with each album, you learn something about yourself as an artist.” Speaking of albums, Faith In The Future was created during the lockdown of the COVID-19 pandemic. The entire concept was developed during the period and, to Louisthis was the first time he could have more time to plan what he wanted to do.
Despite the moment in which the album was developed, Louis He says he wrote the songs thinking about performing them on stage. “It’s one thing to imagine and hope it’s what you thought it would be. But really, you only know when you get to the first show. I remember the first show of Faith In The Futureit was a feeling of accomplishment, like reaching the finish line.”

To work on the album, Louis he chose “Bigger Than Me” as the first single. According to him, the song has “the biggest chorus on the album.” “I can remember the feeling of finishing writing. It felt like it was already a single, I never saw it any other way.”
He also promoted “Out Of My System“, a song she loved from the beginning, as she reveals to us. “If she were in Walls (2020), I don’t know if I would have the courage to release it as a single, so it was like taking a bit of a risk.” He also says that this is the song he likes most on the album.
‘Trash’ people and films
An artist’s sources of inspiration can be the most varied. When asked about this, Louis says that his comes “from the most obvious things: people and human stories, like most composers,” but confesses that much of what he watches on TV and in films also tends to help him in the task of creating.
It’s usually small things, it doesn’t have to be the main story. It could be something that happens between two characters and gives an idea for a song title, or the concept.
He also reveals that he spends a lot of time watching action films that he classifies as “trash”. “The kind where the script isn’t amazing, but you know what you’re going to get.” Furthermore, the singer also appreciates productions that make him reflect and has Black Mirror (2011) as one of my favorite series.
Collaborations
For a singer who began his career in a group, it may seem natural that Louis would choose to step away from collaborations with other artists. None of his albums feature any type of features — as they are popularly called. He, however, has no problem with that.
The first steps of his solo career were collaborations with DJ Steve Aoki in “Just Hold On“and the duet”Back To You” with the American singer and songwriter Baby Rexha. “It was incredible because I came out of a situation of sharing the pressure of being in a band. It helped me understand where I want to be today, I’m grateful to Steve and the Baby for helping me with this.”

For a next single, however, the singer is considering collaborating with another artist. “I’m excited about the idea again.” Despite not giving many details of what he plans, Louis confesses that he wants to work with a female artist and says that “I kind of already have the song in my head.” He says he enjoys the entire creation process, from creation to taking the songs to the stage.
Louis is also the creator of a festival, the Away From Home, which has already taken place in the United Kingdom, Spain and Italy. In June this year the event takes place in Mexico and the singer says that bringing it to Brazil would be “a dream.” “The atmosphere would be absolutely amazing, I would love it!” Given the fans’ passion for it, we can guarantee it would be a success.
