Smith is mentioned in the title track of Swift’s new album ‘The Tortured Poets Department’
patti smith was one of the many names mentioned in songs by The Tortured Poets Departmentnew album by Taylor Swift. In an excerpt from the title track, the singer says, in free translation: “I laughed in your face and said / ‘You’re not the Dylan ThomasI’m not the patti smith / This isn’t the Chelsea Hotel / We’re not modern idiots'”.
Fans speculate that the song references the relationship between the owner of the hit “Anti-Hero” and the frontman of The 1975, Matty Healy.
Smith reacted to the mention in the new album by Swift when publishing black and white photo holding Portrait of the Artist as a Young Dog (1940), book by Dylan Thomas. “This is to say that I was thrilled to be mentioned alongside the great Welsh poet Dylan Thomas. Thanks, Taylor“, wrote the artist on Instagram.
