Deep Purple announces first new album in four years

‘=1’ hits streaming platforms in 2024

The next album from Deep Purple It already has a name and release date. =1 hits streaming platforms on July 19th, via earMUSIC, and will be the band’s first album since 2021, when they released covers in Turning To Crime. The project will also be the first with new material since 2020, the year in which the band released Whoosh!.

Fans began speculating about a new album after seeing equations and portrayals of multiverses in London, Paris and Berlin. According to a press release, the album’s title “symbolizes the idea that in a world becoming increasingly complex, everything is eventually simplified to a single essence; everything equals one” (via NME).
