If someone went to that 29-year-old girl in 1985 and said that she, Roberta Miranda, would be called… “The command with boots and hat is no more,” says Roberta Miranda of machismo in her debut at Curitiba; see interview was published for the first time on Banda B.

If someone had gone to that 29-year-old girl in 1985 and told her that she, Roberta Miranda, would be called “Queen”, perhaps she would have believed it. Because of the struggle and breaking of barriers that she had to face, she herself knew that her goal for the future would be to conquer the country and trample the country’s machismo. And she succeeded.

About to celebrate 40 years of career, Roberta Miranda debuted in Curitiba with a new show last Saturday (27th). The tour takes its name from the singer’s new project, Infiniterecorded a few days ago. See the full interview below.

Originally from Paraíba, Roberta Miranda has always been synonymous with a strong woman, who did not limit herself and never allowed herself to lower her head in front of anyone. At Banda B, the singer said that today she is proud to look back and see what she sees today: a reference for many women who came after.

“I am very proud, because it is not easy. It was not easy 39 years ago, it is still not easy for girls, they also complain. But today it is much easier, because without the internet, people take anything legally” action, because nothing can happen today.”

According to the singer, machismo in country music still exists, but nowadays it is more hidden. Simply because women have taken over, occupying the space that should always have been theirs.

“What happens to the macho man? He dresses like a wolf and pretends to like it. But women have invaded the countryside, women today lead 100,000, 80,000, 50,000 people. And that time of commanding boots and hats is over… And we are managed to break through this path.”

New project

Roberta Miranda chose the symbol of infinity, formed by the number eight stretched out (placed horizontally), which for her represents the limitless and eternity, as is art itself, which is eternal.

Infinite For the singer it is the recording of an album that will be made available on digital platforms and has an even greater symbolism: almost eight years ago, Roberta Miranda had not recorded an album. And she broke that divide. What motivated you to record? The admirers.

“I think it’s a fan request, because it’s been eight years. The last time was when girls still appeared in the country music market, and I brought Marília Mendonça and many others in my DVD. Thank God, after this DVD, each one went its own way and exploded in a beautiful way. Eight years have passed and the fans always ask. My fans are very polite and delicate, because when they have to say something they go to direct, which they do they see it , and then they ask, and so Infinito was born. It’s a job that took more than three months to have the music, understand what we were going to do at the show, at the entrance, which was all done by me and in 3D, it’s a lot of work, very nice.”

In addition to having the responsibility of helping her lead her career, Roberta has never distanced herself from what’s new in the world of music. It was no surprise that you chose to participate in two current names for the new project.

“I’ve always liked it, in my work I’ve always looked for this mix. Bringing LuÍsa Sonza was really nice. Also Gustavo Mioto, who I’ve loved for many years. I’ve always liked mixing with these guys, I love it. Today we hear “ah, the country singer sings with rap, he is innovating with funk, but I already brought this ten years ago with MV Bill. I’ve combined country music with rap before, so I’m always innovating.”

The debut of the tour, which bears the same name as the project, in Curitiba, was a success: the start of the new show already has more than ten cities confirmed, even outside Brazil: Angola and Mozambique.

40 years of career

At 67, Roberta Miranda is already celebrating almost 40 years of her career. Next year marks four decades of travel, and you already know you want to celebrate in style.

“We are already thinking about the next DVD, which I will record now, which is very big, with guest appearances, to commemorate 40 years. I have to make the DVD in November to be released in 2025.”

The singer confided that when she sets out to do something, she is demanding. That’s why she said fans don’t miss out by waiting.

“Put my name there, you know I’m demanding, boring, it’s not like that. Work for me is art, it’s not a passing fad. So art must be respected. I could have chosen the immediate path, but I wanted it to be long-lasting, I wanted that art remained beyond me. Majesty Sabia he is 43 years old and a two year old child sings, a 104 year old lady also sang, who unfortunately is no longer here. I was born an artist and I appreciate art.”
