Rock in Rio audience is furious with the lineup: “I want my money back”

Social networks are full of complaints, refund requests, ticket resales and protests against the organization of the festival

The public did not like the lineup of Rock in Rio 2024, which will only include a day of rock and the presence of all types of musical genres, including country music and pagoda music. Furthermore, an entire day of programming will be entirely dedicated to Brazilian artists, without the presence of international attractions.

While organizers claim the festival was never a rock festival, many of those who bought passports with all-day tickets in advance are complaining on social media and wanting their money back. There are dozens of posts mentioning refunds and wanting information on how to proceed. Those in a hurry are already putting their tickets on sale.

The big problem is that, like every year, Rock in Rio started selling tickets before revealing the artists who would be playing the event. Now that the revelation has been made, the public regrets the purchase. Among the outbursts, the edition tends to be pointed out as the worst in the history of the event. “Trash” is the most used adjective. Rock in Rio 2024, ironically, was conceived as a (first) commemorative edition of the 40th anniversary of the festival, which began in 1985 with great shows of all genres… from rock – metal, to progressive, to new wave, to post-punk.
