The new member of the metal band was made official last Tuesday, the 30th
OR Sliding knot has just made the new lineup official: now the metal band will feature the Brazilian Eloy Casagrande on the battery. The artist’s arrival was announced last Tuesday, the 30th, in a post on Instagram.
“Slipknot officially welcomes Eloy Casagrande”, reads the text accompanied by an image of the new protagonist member.
Who is Eloy Casagrande?
Eloy Casagrande Lopes, 33, became known as the drummer of Sepultura, the country’s most important heavy metal band, which he joined in 2011, at the age of 20.
At the time, according to the group, Eloy said he would pursue a career in another project. “We were caught by surprise, without warning or any kind of discussion about how to make the transition. The communication was made and he left the band immediately, abandoning everything related to Sepultura,” it said in a statement.
In November, Slipknot announced the departure of Jay Weinberg, then the band’s drummer. Shortly after, the musician also said he was taken aback by the decision. “I was shocked to receive the phone call I received on the morning of November 5; news that many of you would learn shortly thereafter,” he wrote in a statement on Instagram.
