In 1990, Pedro Almodóvar organized a dinner for Madonna, at which she met Antonio Banderas
In In Bed with Madonna (1991), documentary that shows the Blond Ambition World Tour1990, Madonna revealed that he had a crush on Antonio Banderas.
“I’m so desperate”, said the artist in the film, reporting that living only with “people from the show” ended up “getting boring”. She then stated that she would like to meet “that guy who acts in all the movies in the [Pedro] Almodóvar“, referring to Flags.
“Antonio Banderas He’s a Spanish actor who I’ve been in love with for two years,” she said. “One of the few actors I’d really like to meet.”
There was, however, one obstacle: Anthony was married to Ana Leza. “I got it in my head that I would Anthony fell madly in love with me, but an obstacle arose that I couldn’t get around: his wife”, he lamented Madonna. “Slutty life.”
At a dinner organized in Madrid by Almodóvar for the singer, Leza had to sit at a table far from her husband’s, who was next to Madonna. While she was hitting on the actor, she told his wife that she didn’t need to worry, as it wasn’t a joke, “or not.”
At the end of the night, Madonna asked to Flags called her after a show, and the two kissed. However, he did not meet the expectations of the Queen of Pop. “I don’t need to say that I never heard of Anthony“, she confessed.
In a diary published during the beginning of the pandemic, Almodóvar also talked about the episode. According to the director, Madonna “I was just interested in getting to know you” Antonio Banderas and made him feel disrespected: “Madonna treated us like simpletons and I had to say that one day.
