The images of the metal structure went viral on social media throughout the week and worried fans present at the pop diva’s show who began to speculate on the possibility that the device was being used as a delimiter between the VIP area and the rest of the public.
In one video, a man showed the structure placed in the sand and criticized that it would not be possible to see the stage. The city’s mayor, Eduardo Paes, responded to the criticism by assuring that the structure will be removed.
According to Rio de Janeiro city hall, 1.5 million people are expected to attend the event. The show will start at 9.45pm and last two hours. This will be the last show of The Celebretion tour, which celebrates the pop diva’s 40-year career.
With the show coming soon, Madonna will have performed in Brazil four times. She has already enchanted the Brazilian public with her tour The Girlie Show, in 1993; the Sticky and Sweet Tour, in 2008; and MDNA, in 2012.
