According to information from the Rio de Janeiro government, approximately 150,000 national and international tourists were in Rio de Janeiro last weekend. The presence of so many people made the city’s hotel sector almost full, reaching 96% occupancy.

The government report also shows that 3,200 military police officers and 1,500 civil police officers worked on the event, which recorded 213 incidents: 38 people were taken to police stations and seven arrests were made.

In more than 50 incidents, firefighters, who had a contingent of 800 soldiers, were assisted. Major calls include rescues at sea and on land, as well as clinical events such as fainting. 45 maritime rescues were carried out.
