Roberto Carlos decided to donate the entire amount to the flood victims Rio Grande do Sul the proceeds from the Mother’s Day show held in the city of Santos, São Paulo. The presentation took place on Sunday 12th.
“The population of Rio Grande do Sul is in a hurry. And, due to this urgency, the singer Roberto Carlos has decided to donate the entire proceeds of the show in honor of Mother’s Day”, explained the singer’s advisor, in a note sent on press.
King’ he had already donated R$200,000 to the cause, but understood the urgency of the situation and decided to donate the profits from his show to Santos, instead of holding a follow-up benefit show, as he had previously claimed.
Rio Grande do Sul is currently experiencing a state of public calamity, in what is already considered the largest natural disaster in its history. More than 2.1 million people in Rio Grande do Sul have been affected by the rains, with 143 dead and 125 missing.
