After the absolute success of critics and audiences since its debut in 2019, the tour Blockage in the streetshow of the legendary Ney Matogrosso, arrives Santos (SP), more precisely in Blue Med Conference Centerin the day May 18th.
There were little more than five uninterrupted years before the tour Pay attention to the signs, a project that has gone through the most diverse phases and has fascinated audiences in Brazil and abroad. A long season even by the standards of Ney Matogrosso who, as usual in recent years, tested and matured the repertoire before releasing CDs and DVDs Pay attention to the signs.
To the 82 years old Ney doesn’t stop. Once again the new project will begin on stage and only later take on other formats. The repertoire was selected while Ney was on tour with the previous show and his criterion was not originality: “It’s not a show of my hits, but I wanted to open up my repertoire more. This time I mixed things I’ve already recorded with other people’s repertoire”scores Ney.
OR ladder reveals the diversity of the repertoire: I want to put my block on the street (Sergio Sampaio), from which the title of the tour derives, The Apple (Raúl Seixas/Paulo Coelho/Marcello Motta), Alcohol (Philosophical bolero)from the film’s original soundtrack Tattoo (DJ Dolores) The alleyrecorded by Ney in the late 80s (Herbert Vianna/Bi Ribeiro) e Woman with big bellyfrom the band’s first album Dry and wetfrom 1973 (Solano Trindade/João Ricardo), are some of the songs chosen by Ney.
Two songs were taken from the double compact Ney Matogrosso AND Fagner, released in 1975: Love postcard (Fagner/Fausto Nilo/Ricardo Bezerra) e Pencil tip (Clodô/Rodger Rogerio). Another classic that Ney had never sung is ” Like 2 and 2 (Caetano Veloso), is also present in the screenplay.
The costumes, always eagerly awaited in the case of a Ney Matogrossoit was tailor-made by the designer Lino Villaventura. Luiz Stein signs the scenario, made up of projections, and Juárez Farinon the light of the show, supervised by Ney.
The sharp gang is the same one that has accompanied him for the last five years, bringing him together Sasha Amback (musical direction and keyboard), Marco Suzano AND Philip Roseno (percussion), Dunga (Bass), Maurizio Almeida (guitar), Aquiles Moraes (trumpet) e Everson Moraes (trombone).
