Ivete Sangalo and Ludmilla cancel tours: low ticket sales?

Poor ticket sales could be among the reasons for the cancellation of Ivete and Ludmilla’s tours

Summary

Ivete Sangalo and Ludmilla announced the cancellation of the tours they were going to do across the country in 2024 because the producer (30e) did not provide the necessary conditions for them to take place safely. The decision reveals the glut of entertainment in the Brazilian market and the readjustment to conditions when the Covid-19 pandemic ends.

The singers Ivete Sangalo and Ludmilla have announced the cancellation of the tours they would have done throughout the country in 2024. Ivete would celebrate 30 years of career with the “A Festa” tour, which had an aperitif in December last year at the Maracanã; Ludmilla would tour 19 stadiums and arenas across the country with “Ludmilla In The House”. The first performance was scheduled for May 25, in Rio de Janeiro.

Both singers released statements on their social networks, almost simultaneously, claiming that the producer 30e, responsible for the two tours, did not provide the necessary conditions, stipulated in the contract, so that the mega shows could take place safely.

On the other hand, 30e also released a statement hours later, regretting but respecting the unilateral decision of the artists, as well as clarifying that, at no time, did it evaluate the cancellation of the two tours, but rather a readjustment of the program. structure (in the case of “Party”, by Ivete).

Regarding Ludmilla’s tour, 30e stated that there were no negotiations prior to the artist’s exclusive decision and statement.

More than two cancellations, these two facts reveal what I’ve already seen discussed behind the scenes in Brazilian entertainment: there’s an entertainment bubble in the country that’s about to burst.

The absurd ticket prices, inflated due to astronomical production costs and the proliferation of festivals across the country, do not reflect the reality of the Brazilian market, which gave vent to pent-up demand after the end of the pandemic but seems to want to readjust to levels lowest in 2024. Ivete and Ludmilla are only the first two to pay the price.
