The event in Sao Paulo combines culture and solidarity with more than one hundred performances this weekend
Virada Cultural, which takes place this Saturday (5/18) and Sunday (5/19) in different regions of São Paulo, this year is called Virada Cultural da Solidariedade, transforming the shows into places to collect donations for the victims of floods in Rio Grande do Sul.
The organization has distributed several collection points throughout the city. “Under the motto ‘United by Solidarity: the cultural breakthrough of one country’, the event collects donations for Rio Grande do Sul through collection tents available in all 12 arenas, at each entry point,” informed the Municipality of Sao Paulo in a statement.
The Municipality invites all participants to make a voluntary contribution equal to one kilo of non-perishable food, bottles of drinking water, hygiene and cleaning items. “The Municipal Department of Culture has informed that theatres, libraries, museums, cultural centers and houses of culture will also receive donations of water, hygiene products and non-perishable food”.
