The singer decides to move away from the musical reality to dedicate herself more to her musical career and family
Ivete Sangalo has informed Globo that he will no longer present the program “The Masked Singer Brasil”, a musical reality show that he has been hosting since 2021.
The confirmation came from Ivete itself during the Marketing Network Brasil event, promoted by the advertising newspaper Meio and Mensagem last Thursday (16/5) in Praia do Forte, Bahia.
According to Ivete, the program requires a lot of dedication and she wants to reduce her work pace to pay more attention to her music career and be close to her family. “The time that the program requires is very long, and at this moment in my life I want to be more present at home,” explained the singer.
Future of the program
Ivete had already expressed his intention to leave “The Masked Singer Brasil” to manage Globo earlier this year, during the recording of the fourth season. However, the broadcaster is satisfied with the program’s audience and plans a fifth season for 2025, which will be broadcast on Sunday afternoons. With Ivete’s departure, Globo must choose a new presenter.
Produced by Globo in collaboration with Endemol Shine Brasil, “The Masked Singer Brasil” brings together famous people in costume for a music competition. Whoever sings best advances to the next stage. Whoever is eliminated reveals their identity to the public.
The program debuted in 2021 in prime time on Globo and was a ratings success. In 2022 it moved to Sunday afternoons, maintaining good ratings.
