Nerd Pride Day is the date that celebrates the release of the 1977 film “Star Wars: A New Hope” and “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy,” by Douglas Adams. The date has existed since 2001 and is also known as Towel Day: in the “Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” the towel is an essential object, so on Nerd Pride Day fans took to the streets with backpacks and towels on their shoulders.
