Anitta exposes sexism in an international interview: “As if we were trapped in time”

She complained about the sexist approach of a journalist, who only wanted to ask about the singer’s intimate life

Anitta unleashed herself on the Today website, in an article published this Friday the 31st. At the time, she had returned from “one of the worst interviews” of her international career and apologized for having been too silent.

“I’m sorry for being silent. I just came back from one of the worst interviews of my entire career. It was so sexist, like we were stuck in time 20 years ago,” she complained. “They just wanted to ask me about sex, my sexuality, my love life,” said Anitta, who was asked if she would pose for Playboy.

“At one point, they asked me if I would consider posing for Playboy! Playboy! And when I said, I said, ‘Who knows, maybe I’ll become a writer for Playboy.’ It was like they never thought I could be beautiful and talented and intelligent.”

Anitta then explained that the problem of the interview was to summarize her career with only information about her intimate life. “I don’t mind talking about sexuality. It’s part of our life and it’s a big part of who I am, so I don’t mind being asked about it. I love being a sexual person. It’s part of my character,” he commented.

“I just don’t like it when people think that’s all. When people treat me like, ‘Oh, being sexy is all I know.’ No, that’s not all I know. I’ve been managing my career for many years. I’m a better business person, I can’t reduce myself to just sex, I do a lot and I want to do a lot more,” Anitta continued.

Anitta also reiterated that she created a character after suffering sexual abuse from an ex-boyfriend. “I’m not that confident, to be honest. I have my insecurities. I’m just a normal person. I created a character who doesn’t go through all these things, doesn’t have these big emotions… this character who is invincible. And that makes me like it, I think it’s cool, it’s important,” he said.

Finally, the powerful woman commented in more detail: “Anitta is part of me and I think we all have a character like her inside us, this person that we can use as armor to face the most difficult things in life,” she concluded . .
