Ariana Grande Becomes Catwoman in Music Video Featuring the “You” Star.

The feline-loving singer dons the anti-heroine’s shoes to take a look at the handsome mayor played by the Netflix heartthrob

Ariana Grande transforms into Catwoman in the music video for “The Boy Is Mine”, released this Friday (7/6) featuring actor Penn Badgley (the charming psychopath from Netflix’s “You”). The new single is part of the recently released album “Eternal Sunshine”, which is topping the Billboard charts.

In the Christian Breslauer-directed video, the singer appears dressed as the fictional DC Comics character and becomes obsessed with a charming mayor (Badgley), who announces the release of feral cats into the streets to eradicate a rat infestation from the city.

The clip also features a cameo from singers Monica and Brandy, who famously duetted on another song called “The Boy Is Mine” in 1998 – the track served as inspiration for Ariana’s recording. They appear as news anchors reporting on the handsome mayor’s initiative.

Rumors of Badgley’s involvement in the music video surfaced last week, when the singer shared photos of herself in front of a male portrait, with hearts that say “True Love” [Amor Verdadeiro] and “Be Mine” [Seja Meu]. Subsequently, she published a few short scenes in which she revealed the participation of the revealed star in “Gossip Girl”.
