Released this Wednesday, 12th, on music streaming platforms, ‘Ela É a Mastrobiso’ recalls how Supla met his girlfriend, Nathalia Mastrobiso
To celebrate the Valentine’s Daycelebrated annually on June 12th in Brazil, Supla released music to declare himself to his girlfriend, Nathalia Mastrobiso. Titled “She is Mastrobiso,” the song is romantic with a punk essence.
The single’s lyrics, written by Supla with the help of his nephew, Teodoro Suplicy, recalls how the couple met, by coincidence, at a gas station. Furthermore, he points out some of her contradictions, such as her “Italian surname, but São Paulo” – according to the singer Rolling Stone Brazilthis is quite punk.
“This song has a 1960s melody, maybe because I listen to a lot of songs from that time, like the version of ‘Be My Baby,'” he stated. “The song’s instrumental is very interesting. There’s a beat that the hi-hat keeps opening, which is really cool, like Felipinhoa guitar with a very interesting delay Henrique Cabreira and the bottom of Edu Cabreira.”
The lyrics are a true story. The verse begins by saying: ‘I met her at the gas station, with a country accent with a big ‘R’.’ She couldn’t get a visa to the USA and we put that in the lyrics too. She says she is from São Paulo with an Italian surname. Then this lyric came up. You can’t make these things up. It’s all real.
