O REM met in an interview with CBS, and its members reflected on the band’s beginnings. Asked about recognition for iconic compositions, Peter Buck replied: “We live or die on the strength of our music, so it’s a great honor.”

“That’s so self-indulgent. None of us are that self-indulgent,” he replied. Mills.
“I am”, he pondered Michael Stipe, making everyone laugh. “Sometimes I go on YouTube and watch some live performances. I’m like, ‘Wow, I can’t believe we did that’. We did! And we did it really well.”
