The North American guitarist performs on the 20th in Rio de Janeiro, the 22nd in São Paulo and the 24th in Curitiba on tour with the festival
One of the biggest names in world rock, the North American guitarist Eric Gales will make some presentations in Brazil with the Best Of Blues And Rock Festival. The musician will perform in Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo and Curitiba, on the 20th, 22nd and 24th, respectively.
Known as a prodigy since childhood and with more than a dozen solo albums, the musician is expected to perform a special set bringing together the greatest hits of his career. This is not the first time that the artist has arrived here, so the relationship with Brazilian fans has been going on for some time.
Welsh comes from a musical family – his father and brothers are also musicians – and has as references other musical monsters, such as Jimi Hendrix, Cream, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Albert King, Led Zeppelin It is ZZTop.
Possible setlist
Can’t find much information about what Welsh will present, as the artist does not usually make show setlists available after the presentations. But considering some of the songs that are present in most of the musician’s presentations, we can consider some songs.
Somebody
Smokestack Lightning (cover of Howlin’ Wolf )
You Don’t Know The Blues
My Own Best Friend
Baby Please Don’t Leave Me (cover of Junior Kimbrough)
Too Close to the Fire
Layin’ Down the Blues
How Do I Get You
Been So Long
Southpaw Serenade
It Just Beez That Way
Voodoo Child(Slight Return) (cover of The Jimi Hendrix Experience)
Kashmir (cover inLed Zeppelin )
Back in Black
I Want My Crown
Whereas Joe Bonamassa will also be in the festival’s line-up, it is possible that he will join Welsh to present “I want My Crown,” collaboration between the two for Gales’ most recent album, called Crown (2022).
Speaking of the album, as it is the guitarist’s most recent work, it is possible that it is one of the artist’s most sought-after albums. Other discs like Middle Of The Road(2017) and Good for sumthin’ (2014) should also appear on the show’s setlist.
