The singer died following septic shock due to pneumonia, aggravated by a kidney problem he was facing.
The Samaritano Higienópolis hospital reported on Thursday (20/6) that singer Chrystian, from the country duo with Ralf, died of “septic shock due to pneumonia aggravated by comorbidities”. The 67-year-old artist’s death was confirmed on Wednesday night (6/19).
“The Samaritan Hospital Higienópolis informs that the singer Chrystian José Pereira da Silva Neto died on Wednesday night (19/06) in the ward. The cause of death was septic shock (generalized infection) due to pneumonia aggravated by comorbidities. The institution sympathizes with family and friends”, reads a note sent to the press by the hospital.
The death of Cristiano
Chrystian was admitted to hospital on Wednesday morning (6/19) after feeling unwell at home. He was admitted to hospital due to a diagnosis requiring “immediate rest and specialist treatment” after a cardiac arrest. The department even canceled a show scheduled for Saturday (22/6) at Franco da Rocha, in Sao Paulo.
But his health was already delicate. Chrystian suffered from polycystic kidney disease and was preparing for an organ transplant, which would be donated by his wife, Key Vieira. The surgery was scheduled for March, but was postponed until the end of the year due to an unexpected health problem. During the pre-operative tests, the compatriot had to undergo a catheterization, which required the use of anticoagulant drugs for six months and prevented the transplant from taking place in that period.
Kidney problem was one of the comorbidities mentioned in the medical bulletin.
