BTS’ Jimin releases new solo music video

The song features rapper Loco and is part of the album “Muse”, out on July 19th

South Korean singer Jimin, a member of BTS, released the music video for “Smeraldo Garden Marching Band” in the early hours of Friday (6/28), which features fellow rapper and countryman Loco. The release is a preview of the artist’s upcoming solo album, titled “Muse,” scheduled for release on July 19.

Production and references

Inspired by the visuals of The Beatles’ album “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band,” the track combines hip-hop beats with the sounds of a marching band. Jimin once again worked with renowned producers Pdogg, GHSTLOOP, and EVAN, with whom he collaborated on his debut solo album, “FACE.”

In addition to the South Korean producers, the production team includes Tommy Brown, known for his work with artists such as Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber and The Weeknd.

The song refers to the fictional flower “Emerald”, which symbolizes “the unspeakable truth”, connecting to BTS’ track “The Truth Untold” from the album “Love Yourself 轉 ‘Tear'”.

The clip

The music video features Jimin singing and dancing in a fairytale garden, accompanied by the producers and Loco, as he connects the couples. The clip highlights Jimin’s fluid dance moves and vocal versatility, and as is customary, it also features a choreography with several dancers on stage.

Expectations for the album “Muse”

The romantic mood of “Smeraldo Garden Marching Band” anticipates the tone of the album “Muse,” which will contain several interconnected songs, all centered on the theme of love. The track list includes “Slow Dance,” a duet with Sofia Carson, and “Closer Than This,” released in December.
