The presenter requests the return of the money lent to singer Diego Faria for the recording of a DVD
Presenter Silvia Abravanel has gone to court to recover more than R$500,000 lent to her ex-boyfriend, singer Diego Faria. In 2021, she financed the recording of a DVD by the country singer, who did not pay the installments as agreed. The lawsuit, filed in August 2023, specifies that Silvia lent R$511,765.92. Diego did not present any defense and Judge Paula Velloso Rodrigues Ferreri ruled in favor of Silvia, ordering Faria and the other debtors to pay R$635,500.94, including fines and interest.
Contract and debt
Silvia loaned R$441,151.82 in December 2021 for the recording of the DVD “Sinta aExperience”, held in Goiânia. An additional R$76,000 was subsequently made available, for a total of R$511,765.92. The contract provided for payment in 36 installments starting from July 2022, but only two were paid.
In messages attached to the trial, Silvia said she needed to apply for a personal loan and had a tense conversation with her father about her financial situation. “Tense conversation, because I had to account for R $ 435,000,” she said in one of her messages.
Defense and legal proceedings
Diego Faria did not file a defense in the action, which was filed in absentia. Luiz Roberto Blum, the singer’s former manager, disputed the accusation, arguing that the amount was “help” and not a loan. Blum, who currently has two lawsuits against Diego – one for legal fees and the other for the termination of an artistic contract – said the money was offered as a “contribution.”
Judicial decision
Judge Paula Velloso Rodrigues Ferreri, who gave Sílvia the legal victory in the first instance, found that the debtors were aware that it was a loan. “The complaint of the co-defendant Luiz regarding the nature and payment of the sums covered by the contract is also unfounded. As the applicant pointed out, there was an express provision of the parties regarding the amounts of the loan and the methods of payment”, declared the judge in the sentence.
Relationships and controversies
Diego Faria, known for the hit “Elas Ficam Loucas”, dated Silvia in 2021. They have not appeared publicly together, but Silvia performed the singer’s song on the program “Bom Dia & Cia”. Diego posted the video thanking the presenter. He currently claims to be unaware of the legal charges.
