Starlight has finally reached its limit of what it could take as part of. Starlight has had to make some big decisions about which lines it will cross and not cross, especially with Hughie trading Compound V for temporary superpowers. This ended their relationship (but not their feelings for each other), but then Starlight stole Compound V for Kimiko. Erin Moriarty spoke to Law Sharma of Gossipify about his character, and shared:
Annie will cross whatever borderline she has to cross to make sure the world is a better place to accomplish her goals, but that line won’t involve hurting someone innocent. It is pretty clear what she will do and what she will not do. She just wants to save people. She won’t hurt or kill anyone innocent. There will be no innocent victims as long as she is around. And we see that a lot in season 3, especially in Herogasm.
The most selfless former member of the Seven isn’t averse to pushing the boundaries to do the right thing, but he doesn’t focus on the greater good at the cost of lives as much as Butcher and Hughie team up with Soldier Boy. In fact, he tried to save as many lives as possible with Mother’s Milk during Herogasm (which you can find in streaming with an Amazon Prime subscription ), and disagrees with Hughie helping Soldier Boy kill his former teammates in exchange for his help against Homelander. As Erin Moriarty said, fans saw a lot of that side of Annie in Season 3.
And by the end of the seventh and penultimate episode of the season, Hughie will soon realize that he should have always been on Starlight’s side, after revealing that Soldier Boy is Homelander’s father. The character of Jensen Ackles called his biological son after discovering the truth, and it seems safe to say that the situation with Hughie and Butcher waiting for Soldier Boy to kill Homelander has gotten a lot more complicated.
Since Starlight’s warning about Compound V’s side effects may not reach Hughie, they may see their plan backfire when it’s too late to stop the super-powerful father and son from joining forces. . Of course, there is no guarantee at this point that Soldier Boy and Homelander will team up, and they are both generic characters with the potential to kill each other, so it remains to be seen if Hughie will be happy with his decision or if he realizes that Starlight. he was right not to cross his own moral line.
