The first change that the audience will notice is the location of the Sunset stage, the second most important stage of the festival. In addition to increasing in size, it will now be visible to the audience from the entrance: on one side there will be the Mundo stage, the main one, and on the other the Sunset stage.
The “stage area” of Sunset (this is what the space actually used by the artists is called, regardless of the scenography) will increase by 21 meters in width compared to the previous edition: it will go from 72 to 93 meters, the same size as the Mundo stage. The height will be 27.5 meters, the same as the main stage.
Global Village will occupy the space where, in 2022, Espaço Favela was located, which however continues to exist in another part of Cidade do Rock.
In addition to the two main stages, Global Village and Espaço Favela, Cidade do Rock will also host the New Dance Order and Supernova stages, Babilônia Feira Hype, the Lounge Club, the space where the musical “Sonhos, Lama and Rock and Roll” took place, and five rides: zip line, roller coaster, Ferris wheel, Mega Download and Discovery.
Assembly
The Mundo stage was the first to begin assembly, on Monday. It will have the same overall dimensions as the last edition: 104 meters wide and 30 meters high, corresponding to a 10-story building. But the stage space illuminated by LEDs will increase to 830 square meters, divided into six screens. Sixty workers are working to assemble the metal structure, which should be erected in about 15 days, then the scenographic setup will remain.
On Thursday 4th the assembly of the Sunset stage began.
The festival, which will run from September 13 to 22, is expected to welcome 100,000 people per day, with another 28,000 working at the event.
There are still tickets available for three days: September 15, when Avenged Sevenfold, Evanescent and Deep Purple will perform; September 19, with performances by Ed Sheeran, Charlie Puth and Gloria Groove; and September 21, when the Brazil Day celebrations will take place in a 12-hour festival with only Brazilian musical attractions. Sales are made exclusively through the Ticketmaster platform (www.ticketmaster.com.br).
