The new phenomenon of music, Benson Boonetold the story of how he managed to perform his hit “Beautiful Things” with Lana Del Rey. During an interview at Grammy Museum On Thursday, the 18th, the musician said he received a call from the singer, inviting him to join her for a duet on Hangout Fest in Alabama in May.
“I’m sitting here on the plane, about to take off, and I get a call. Obviously, I have no idea who it’s from,” he said. “Normally, I just answer the phone… I want to have a little chat with Don from State Farm and talk about the insurance that I definitely already have.”
“I answered the phone and I was like, ‘Hey, it’s Roger, who is this?’ It wasn’t Roger, it was me. And she said, ‘Hey, this is Lana‘…I was like, LanaI know you? Lana who? And she said, ‘Oh, Lana Del Rey‘”, Boone she added, reenacting her hilarious reaction when she realized who was on the phone. “It was the most insane thing. I literally didn’t even hear the next thing she said. I’m sure she talked for a while, but I didn’t hear anything. I was freaking out.”
In the connection, Del Rey invited him to join her onstage at the festival. He called his manager, made sure their schedules were free, and agreed to do it. “It was the craziest thing ever,” he said, adding that he even sent her a photo of his outfit before the show. “I had so much fun.”
