Last Sunday (21), singer Day Limns, known for her powerful voice and strong verses, brought her new tour on stage, VENUS≠Neptune Tourin Rio de Janeiro.
The unprecedented show comes after the artist’s debut on the stages of Lollapalooza Brasil 2024. Bringing all his truth and vulnerability, DAY LIMNS the show is based on the second studio album, “VÊNUS≠neptune”, a groundbreaking work that promises to redefine the Brazilian Pop/rock scene. The album is an emotional journey that draws a parallel between the complexity of human relationships, addressing themes such as duality, sacredness, sin and redemption, and will pass through Porto Alegre, Curtiba, Recife, Belo Horizonte, Fortaleza, Santo André, in addition to the capital of São Paulo.
The tour, which will touch the main capitals of Brazil, addresses the difficulty of reconciling the relationship between earthly and spiritual, sacred and profane, good and evil, etc., but with the eternal attempt to make it work. According to the artist, “VENUS≠neptune” is someone obsessed with romanticism, idealizing the person they love to the point of putting them on a pedestal, attributing to them the importance of “a god”, (in our case – goddess) and who, faced with the harsh reality, encounter real difficulties in dealing with it or simply accepting it as it is, which leads to disillusionment.
The “VÊNUS≠netuno Tour” is the first tour of the new era of DAY, after their last show inspired by the album “Bem-Vindo ao Clube”, from 2018. Now, with a more rock ‘n roll touch, Goiana invests in powerful chords in the journey of self-liberation, full of anger, passion and a pinch of innocence of his previous works.
For DAY, the new show represents an end to the feelings that have been eating away at her, like the “guilt of never being enough,” that she was taught to feel for so long in her experience in church.
“It was all very close to the surface and the guilt kicked in. They didn’t make me feel that way, but I reacted based on my experience. I thought, ‘I’ve been really bad, I’m a piece of shit, a cross for that person.’ I realized that my need to deify someone came very much from that place, from growing up needing salvation.“, explains DAY LIMNS.
