In March, however, the musician was sure he would reach 100: “I just talked to a psychic. She told me: ‘Ace, you will live to be a hundred’. Then I said: ‘No problem!'” he said in an interview with the site The Aquarius.
Another factor that gave Frehley confidence was the longevity of his family members: “Luckily I have good genes. My father lived to 96 and my mother lived to 86, but her older sister lived to 99. I mean, we have longevity in the family on both sides,” he continued.
About three years ago, the guitarist suffered another accident when he fell at home. At the time, he thought he would never return to the stage.
“It was tough because I fell on my right arm, which is the arm I strum with when I play the guitar. So it’s amazing to go on stage, because I wasn’t sure if it would ever go back to the way it was,” he said.
After the first accident, Frehley managed to recover and returned to the stage with his band. His last show was in September, in the United States.
A member of Kiss’ original lineup, the guitarist first left the band in 1982. He returned in 1996, before leaving for good in 2002.
