IZA recently released a video from their show at Rock in Rio 2019, highlighting a special moment related Sam Smith. At the time, the singer revealed that, in 2015, during Smith’s performance at the festival, she said a prayer asking to one day have the chance to perform on the same stage.
“In 2015, during Sam Smith’s show, I got down on my knees and asked God that, in 2017, it wouldn’t be possible, but that, in 2019, I could be on stage and move the audience the way he did. I wanted to be the happiest person in the world.”said IZA then.
The collaboration of IZA with Sam Smith is part of a special project celebrating the tenth anniversary of Smith’s debut album, In the lonely hour. The excerpt of the song, in which IZA participates, includes the lines:

IZA revealed his exciting collaboration with Sam Smith for new registration Put me downwhich celebrated a decade since its original release. The song, which is part of the acclaimed album In the lonely hour by Smith, was made available on streaming platforms on Friday (16).
In a statement, IZA he stressed the importance of this partnership in his career. “Sam Smith has had a huge influence on my career, more than anyone could have imagined. In the beginning I was doing covers of his songs”said the singer.

The artist recalled that, in the next edition of the festival, he had the opportunity to perform, making the invitation to re-record even more special. “It was an unforgettable moment that made this invitation even more meaningful,” he added.
