Former Smiths singer claims document from when he was a teenager was stolen from his late mother’s personal possessions

The singer and songwriter Morrisseyformer lead singer of The Smithsmade an appeal in a blog published on its official website, Morrissey Central.

In it, the musician spoke out after his “first passport as a teenager” was stolen from “his late mother’s personal belongings.”

The passport is circulating on Facebook/X [ex-Twitter] by a certain ‘Steven Pisu’https://rollingstone.uol.com.br/”Xavier Jones’. There will be criminal prosecutions against anyone who knowingly buys, sells or retains the passport. In the UK, the act is seen as theft, and criminal charges apply. In the US, Section 496 can administer four years in prison/jail,” the singer wrote.

Morrissey’s plea to retrieve the personal item comes ahead of his recently announced North American tour.

He will kick off the series of shows in Houston and will play across the continent throughout November.

The Smiths back?

Morrissey stated that he accepted an offer to reunite The Smiths this year, but his bandmate Johnny Marr rejected the proposal.

In the wake of news of the grand reunion tour of Oasis in 2025, fans of Smiths contacted Marr on social media, suggesting that his Manchester band should also bury their differences and reform.

In response, Marr simply shared a photo of the far-right politician Nigel Farageinsinuating that the political views of Morrissey were the obstacle to a meeting of the Smiths.

Morrissey supported the far-right political party For Britain in 2019, but has repeatedly denied allegations of racism.

Now, in a post on their website, a representative of Morrissey stated that an offer of a meeting of the Smiths was sent both to him and to Marr earlier this summer, with the singer accepting the proposal but his bandmate not.
