Actor and rapper Will Smith has been announced as one of the attractions of Rock in Rio 2024. The artist, known worldwide for his career in cinema, but who started with music, spoke about the presentation during an interview with “Fantástico” this Sunday (1 /9).

During the interview, Will Smith expressed his excitement at the idea of returning to the stage, especially at an event of such magnitude as Rock in Rio: “Being there for Rock in Rio will be something special. Music is an old love and it’s time to make up for lost time,” said the actor, demonstrating the importance of this return.
Smith, who previously had a successful music career in the ’80s and ’90s, said his film schedule was always a factor in keeping him from focusing more on music. “Doing movies pays a lot of money (laughs). Every time I thought about singing again, the movie people would talk me into doing another movie,” he explained.
Preparations for the show
Will Smith has confirmed that he will perform at Sunset on September 19, the same day Ed Sheeran headlines the world stage. “It’s going to be one of the first places I play. I have a repertoire of 20 songs that I really like,” he revealed.
The actor also joked about Ed Sheeran, emphasizing the mutual admiration between the two artists. “He’s one of the most talented kids of his generation. I just found out he has a ‘Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’ tattoo. He’s a huge fan of the show,” Smith commented, referring to the classic series that launched him as an actor.
