The Black Eyed Peas frontman is dropping RAiDiO.FYI
Summary
Black Eyed Peas frontman Will.i.am is launching RAiDiO.FYI, an AI-powered radio app that drives creative interaction and collaboration.
There are many people trying to reinvent radio by integrating artificial intelligence. But Will.i.am is not just anyone. Leader of the Black Eyed Peas, 35 million records sold, winner of seven Grammy Awards and an established producer, who today also plays with Usher at the Super Bowl, Will is an entrepreneur. And he is no longer one today.
He has been involved in several. From a tech mask to walking to “redefine” car audio. He was the creative director of Intel, helping to create tablets and laptops. He worked with Deutsche Telekom to design smartwatches. He has been involved in the Internet of Things. He has invested in many startups. He even streamed a song directly from the surface of Mars!
Is there a lot of foam? Yes… but Will doesn’t stop. That’s what an entrepreneur is. And he continues to tour the world with his group and promises a new album by the end of this year. Endless energy.
Now he’s launching RAiDiO.FYI, which offers an interesting interaction. It’s different from traditional streaming. It allows a dialogue between listeners and the platform’s AI characters, who act as personalized curators. Users can choose from a variety of AI personalities. Each of them has a distinct voice, reflecting different cultures, from the neighborhoods of South Los Angeles to the underground dance scene in London.
Will.i.am demoed the app at an event at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles. He showed that users can not only listen to music, but also ask questions about what they are listening to and receive instant answers. RAiDiO also offers real-time information on current events, sports, culture, and fashion trends. RAiDiO also integrates location-based personalization. Will.i.am asked the app: Is there a cosmetics store nearby? The AI immediately suggested the nearest Sephora location.
Want to try RaiDiO? It’s already available on AppStore and PlayStore. And watch the interview released these days on Jimmy Kimmel’s show here. Nice chat with Will who sells his fish!
This is just one of your company’s projects FYI.AI. Will says his company is a “communications platform designed to serve the creative community,” combining messaging and collaboration tools with file management and content publishing. The goal is to make it easier for everyone to work together, so creativity can flourish. Simple, complex, and beautiful…
Will you make it? I don’t know. But Will.i.am, who didn’t graduate from high school, is getting his MBA from Harvard Business School at age 49. It’s a good bet to bet on him. And I know that the more artists, entrepreneurs, developers, and people in general push for a more creative world, the better. We at Woopi Stefanini are betting on that!
He is the CEO of Woopi and R&D director of the Stefanini Group, of digital solutions.
